The weather finally is cooperating and I took a long bike ride through some of Toronto's great bike trails… It's not as good as some cities, but there are still some great trips to take, man! Started out my bike journey on the new Rail Path which is close to my place. Near the top of it, there are these pile drivers at the railway junction, building an underpass for rail traffic. Around this bend, onto streets and 5km of hills till… …the Belt Line! In two parts, this is the west portion. An old rail line from the 1890s which was abandoned many years ago, a large portion of its route is now pathways… …the east section is much more rustic. (I cheated here - this photo is several weeks old…) Pretty spring colours The Belt Line ends at Yonge Street at Mt Pleasant Cemetery. Through that, crossing a street, you are in the Moore Park Ravine… A railway bridge slowly gets taken over by foliage… A dog takes a dip while a pal looks on… No photos of the rest of it… by the old brickworks… up the Don Valley Parkway… along Taylor Creek… onto the streets, down Victoria Park, to the Beaches… Gave on old lady friend a call since I was in her hood, she showed me her backyard patio, above… I was there when the Rapture was supposed to hit. Missed it, man… After a beverage or two, I thought it best to stick to the trails, so I got back down to the lakefront trail and headed west towards home!
