"A rose-red city half as old as time"

The final stop of my Eid trip was Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The former Nabataean capital did not disappoint.  We walked for hours exploring small caves and saw the more famous sites of Al Khazneh (The Treasury), The Siiq and El Deir (The Monastery). The colours of the rock were beautiful as you can see in this picture of a series of rooms, carved during the Nabataean era (that's what our guide said).  Petra is an incredible place that everyone should visit if they get a chance to. The rock cut architecture is extremely detailed and well preserved and I would advise spending two days at Petra. Be prepared for alot of walking and getting hot, sweaty and tired.
