The millstream and the seasons

Amazing how the same little stretch of landscape can alter with the seasons. The bit of millstream at Stowford Farm where my wife Sue runs her art school..on the left in late Summer last year with the surface absolutely choked with duckweed (which a single cygnet later came and ate ALL of, beaking it up like a hoover on overdrive), the middle one with the thick ice coverage from our really quite extreme Winter..and on the right, just a few days ago - with the Yellow Water Lilies..also called Spatterdock or in some parts of England ‘Brandy Bottles’..starting to spread, ultimately to cover the stretch of water.
