How to keep your camera dry for £3.24

Hi, I have had a few comments on the Happisburgh pictures asking if I got wet. click to see pics []

Well this is how I kept dry.

Waterproof Jacket £1.99
Metal Hooks 75p
Toggley-thing 50p

I just unpicked the sleeves from the jacket, removed the cord from the hood.

Then rolled the end over to make a tube for the cord. Sewing machine helped here. Add the toggley-thing, that's it half done.

Now I also added some metal hooks to hold the elastic cuff to the lens hood, these had to be hand stitched into place and they took me about 15 mins to sew in. All in an hour after starting I was taking the second sleeve off to make a mkII with velcro to allow me to get my hand inside.

I still prefer the MkI cover you can use all the controls inc zoom through the thin material.

I know the pictures are terrible

The finished Article

Metal hooks hold the elastic end into place.

I do admit that is does look a little sleeve like

There you go £1.99, bargain
