Sunny 16...

I took my Pentax KP, wearing a vintage Nifty 50, to a local Sunflower Patch for a little Sunny 16 Sunflower shoot...

Beautiful blue skies...

Amazing yellows, gold, and greens... and even a few reds...

Nice bokeh...

30+ years old and it is still an amazing piece of glass... and so much fun to shoot with...

Yes, it was on a digital body - but the only advantage that really got me was eliminating the exposure count limitation of my film cameras...

Manual Focus...

Manual Aperture...

That said, be-damned the exposure count limitation... I am hoping to get back to the sunflower patch next weekend with my Ricohflex Medium Format... ;)

This particular sunflower was my favorite of the day - it was exactly 50% open... looks like me in the morning when I open one eye to check the exact minute on the clock to do the math and see how much longer I can stay in bed and still get to work on time...

Now you know I had to shoot a least one b/w - and this composition and crop just really felt right...

Beautiful shots.  From our garden- this year was the first year I harvested the seeds, soaked in brine, salted and now ready!
