Winter Rose...

This was the first thing I saw at the outset of our morning walk...

One defiant rose proudly declaring itself triumphant amid the wintry shroud...

A rosebush at our front entry that had this single defiant bloom which refused to surrender its beautiful gown of red and gold to the likes of the winter bluster...

And though the stem in the background stood in full surrender, encased in a solid tomb of snow from the few inches that fell throughout the night, the defiant bloom had deftly shed all but a small amount of the evening snow as if it had been a mere dusting...

This image was taken with my Pentax/Ricoh K3 wearing a kit 18-135 lens... I shoot pretty consistently +.7 exposure bias when shooting in the snow - and this was no exception...
