My son got a new game and asked me to play it with him... Cool!
JJ: I setup a scenario and balanced the teams, Dad.
Me: You what?
JJ: Here, those are your ships and these are mine. I adjusted their abilities to make the game balanced.
Me: What are all these cards and little pieces?
JJ: Oh, those are [lots of words that I'm pretty sure were from some ancient language] and you use them to [a bunch more of those words - maybe 1st Millenium Akkadian?].
JJ: Let's play a round and then it will make sense.
[Insert game round here - lots of ships, moves, cards, little tokens... and explanations of rules and moves... again, I assume in 1st Millenium Akkadian.]
JJ: And that now that ship is dead... Cool!
Me: Did I win?
JJ: You're ships are all dead, Dad. I won.
Me: Oh. Cool!
JJ: Want to play again?
Me: Let's invite Grandma over to play and do a four way game with you, her, Mommy and Me.
Me: Yeah, Cool. [Maybe I won't be the last team to die.]
JJ: So what do you want to do now?
Me: Um... Can we take a cool space battle photo of your spaceships with my new colored gels.
