Hello, Little Birdie...

So the 'shelter in place' has even some local forest preserves closing up near us so photo opportunities of even local wildlife are somewhat restricted... but no government directive can stop the wildlife from coming to me.

Today, as I was pouring myself a glass of iced tea, I happened to look out the window over my kitchen sink and I saw the community of birds that live in the bush just the other side of the glass...

and they decided to pose...

long enough for me to run upstairs and grab my camera with whatever lens it happened to be wearing...

and run back downstairs, turning on the camera as I ran...
and then open the window to eliminate the glass as an obstruction...
and then climb into my kitchen sink...
and then lean to put the lens out the window...
and then check and adjust my settings...
and then compose my shot...
and then...
FINALLY...
to SHOOT!

Yeah, living right outside the kitchen window has gotten them kinda' use to this crazy human so they were still there and still posing and still patiently tolerant of said crazy human with the big black clicky thing sticking out of the front of his face.

Um, but, uh, yeah... the crazy human, on the other hand, almost killed himself getting up on/in the sink to poke the big black clicky thing sticking out of the front of his head through the window to compose the shots.

Good news - the birds appear un-phased by the experience... but they'll certainly have a fun story to tell their families tonight about the crazy hyoo-män (for some reason, in my head, they pronounce 'human' like a Ferengi from Star Trek) that almost snapped himself in two climbing in and out of a kitchen sink.

The human? Eh - He'll live... a little sore - a lot crazy... but he'll live.
