Family 'Snapshot'

As time permits around me working from home, my wife working from home, and my son doing e-learning from home, I am doing an occasional photo along with some 'stuck at home' photo challenges that are currently running with some photographers I enjoy on FB and YouTube.

I ended up presenting the same photo in two of them.

This is a 'snapshot' in that it captures something about our family in one 'snap' 'shot' but also in that I was moving quickly between video conference calls when I saw and 'snapped' this 'shot'. ;)

The first one centered around the 'heart of your home - the kitchen'... with the topic being somewhat flexible, I approached it from finding a way to represent our whole family in one photo without any of actually being in the photo...

The second one focused on the kitchen but finding some theme (shape or the such) and then processing in black and white...

As I was grabbing a quick lunch I glanced our three usual breakfast mugs washed and in the sink ready for action again the next morning.

Mornings at our house are truly 'golden' - visually, with the sun filtering in our breakfast bay window, and personally, always beginning with coffee for my wife as the dogs follow at her heels awaiting for their walk (and the bird beckons for his daily treat), tea for me as I race around checking overnight messages to get a jump on the day, and cocoa for my son as he roars into action.

Below is the photo processed for both challenges...

Firs,t the color version - emphasizing the 'golden' life that my family gives me every day but is sometimes so easy to lost sight of in the hustle and bustle of the daily routine...

Second, the b/w version - processed to emphasize the repeating theme of the round mugs and round pods...

I wish I had gotten more of the reflection in the counter but I'm pretty happy with what I achieved...
