Trip around Cuba, part 1 of 2

Cuba, as one of the safest islands of the Caribbean, is a perfect destination for travel with no set itinerary. We took a road trip around the relatively big stretch of the island, back in 2005. Cuba is 'stuck in history & time'; time seem to pass slowly there & yet you don't mind. Cuban people are very friendly & humble, we felt 'at home', as everyone heard about former Yugoslavia, place where we grew up, and the President Tito, due to the two countries' ties to the The Non-Aligned Movement during the Cold War. Havana, a capital of music, salsa dance, Spanish colonial architecture & traces of Hemingway's presence in Cuba, deserves a few days' stay.

Hi Jovana, I like your pictures very much. Havana is beautiful and exciting and the Cubans are lovely people.

We spent ten days in Havana some time ago. The National Ballet performance and Chanel fashion show (a Karl Lagerfeld genius creation in the streets of Old Town) were unsurpassed. I do hope to go to Cuba again.

Thank you, at that time we travelled to Cuba for 15 hours, as we lived in the UAE, it felt like an exotic destination from that perspective. We live in Toronto now and Cuba is a common winter getaway for Canadians. It takes only 3 hours to get there. So we visited last year again, it was an all inclusive holiday in a resort. Visited Havana one day, it retained its charm, just felt more ‘touristy’ than in 2005.
