Fly The Empty Skies

Jet Contrails. I had this shot setup. When the jet contrails came through I was going to wait, but decided to frame it just below the moon. Looks much more powerful in large, 24 x 36"
Nikon D300, Nikon 28-200 Zoom, 1/60th F5.0, ISO 100, Handheld, Polarizer to darken late afternoon skies
Converted to B&W from the RAW file in Post.

Watchtower, Zion, Early Evening. Your Classic Cliche Image of the Watchtower inside Zion National Park. It's just gorgeous there, and quite frankly this bridge spanning the stream IS the best vantage point!
Normally, you can't get a spot to shoot on this bridge unless you arrive early. Since I was there way off-season, it was me, and one other snap shooter who jumped out of his camper, snapped a few shots, jumped back in and sped off. Must have been Tuesday…and Zion was on his schedule. LOL.
Nikon D300, Nikon 28-200, 1/100th F7.1 ISO 100, Tripod, remote, Polarizer AND skylight to minimize haze. Converted to B&W from the Raw File in LR

WOW WOW WOW!!! Both are magnificent...#1 with the moon and jet is AWESOME...#2 the lighting is perfection and I love the stream leading to that beautiful mountain range :))

Both are stunning shots, I like the strong contrasts of #1 and the calm atmosphere of the 2nd one
