Melting

Testing out a new P&S camera I bought a few days ago.
Panasonic Lumix LX5, 1/25th second, dark room lit by two candles behind the cup, F2.0, ISO 800. JPG out of the camera.

I tried for about two years using a Canon G9 I purchased but it was too bulky to carry around daily. I'm working with this one now. Roughly 300 images in three days later I'm very impressed. I had originally purchased the Leica DLux 5. Panasonic makes both the Lumix LX5, and the Leica in the same factory. Unfortunately I must have had a bad copy of the Leica as every image was just atrocious so I returned it. I decided to try the the LX5 instead and this is just incredible. Shooting in it's standard, out of the box, IA mode, or program mode the images are clean, and very usable.
My next step is to send some of the images out to see if they will be accepted for stock use.
Even if they aren't, it's making picture taking fun again. I carry it in my jeans and just shoot whatever I want, whenever I want.

This is such a beauitfully staged and well-presented image. I love the colors and the exposure in this shot. But I'm not the only one who liked it - 971 VIEWS! Are you kidding me???
