Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia. One of the most haunted locations in the city. An amazing place. Al Capone spent time in here, and his cell is preserved as he left it. Looks like a mini-parlor.
Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200VR @20mm, 1/2 second, F8.0, ISO 100, handheld (VR does work) As I didn't want to fork over the extra $10.00 for the tripod pass. For those of you familiar with the TV show “Ghosthunters” they have spent time here on several occasions. If you are ever in the city, this is a “must see”. Welll worth it if you like photographing old stuff.
Converted to b&w in Lightroom, then tweaked in between LR and Photoshop.

Light Fixture. Eastern State Penitentiary. Death Row. I was out with my daughter shooting this part of the prison. I was photographing this lamp, and she was about 20 feet away shooting the colorful, but rusted push buttons on the electrical panel that at one time opened and closed the death row cell doors. I heard her say “dad, stop breathing on me”. She thought I was behind her snooping on what she was shooting! I said to her from across the room: “I'm over here!” She turned, saw where I was standing, screamed and ran outside and refused to go into any other building. Weenie.
Something or someone had breathed on her neck several times – and we were the only two (living) souls in death row at the time. It was awesome!
Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200VR @ 75mm, 1/15th second, F8.0 ISO 100, handheld. Same processing as above.
