I'm very fortunate to live adjacent to national parkland in Sydney. Theoretically I can walk from my back yard to the city of Newcastle, 160 kilometres away, through the bush. On a much shorter stroll out the back last weekend I snapped this Sydney Red Gum - I guess so named for obvious reasons.

This water dragon is resident in my back yard, and sometimes get a little too bold, coming in the back door. We've imaginatively named her Lizzie the Lizard.
