Some favourite trees from the safari

On our safari we saw truly amazing sights but there were also some stretches where we searched in vain for animals. It didn't bother me at all - there was always something to look at. Here we were searching for leopards, but there were none - however the baobab trees made up for any disappointment.

These were very, very old trees, hundreds of years.

My good friends the baboons in the early morning light.

Okavango Delta - no animals in view right now, just a peaceful scene with trees.

Seemed to drive past this same tree many times.

Loved those lonely acacias.

Another favourite, just near our camp spot. Looks so peaceful, but through the night just near here a pack of hyenas tore a poor little water buffalo to pieces - we heard the whole drama play out over several hours as the hyenas then fought over the spoils..

And we mustn't forget those sunset trees (and hippos).

Looks inviting but not a good idea to dip a toe in - teeming with hippos and crocs. But a great place to watch and listen with a pre-dinner drink in hand.
