Noisy lion

On the last night of our safari we were kept awake in our tent through the night, first by the grunting of hippos, then by the incredibly loud roaring of lions, very close by. As we left next morning we came across one of the culprits. He had only been doing his job - warning off the competition.

A second view of this exquisite beast.

The King looks relaxed, self confident and not a little bit tired - and by the way "stuffed"! There must have been a good meal involved too ...
Glad you wasn't invited!
How close did you get to the lion, the picture looks like you could have pet his head?

Good morning breakfast - OMG! I think 25 m are close enough and a very short distance for breakfast even for someone slow as myself - think about the elderly people in all-you-can-eat-if-you-are-fast-enough-tourists in all-inklusive-lodgings.
Nevertheless always surviving  AND taking good pictures!
I asked, because I wish for a better equipment - of course at least one or two better lenses ...
