A second day in this extraordinary city, mainly focused on walking around its famous monuments.

The size and scale of the Parthenon is breathtaking when you get up close.

There’s understandable pride in Greece’s spectacular monuments.

The Acropolis is also about stunning views.

It is a constant presence, here seen from the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

The miracle of this view of the Theatre of Dionysus is no tourists in shot.

Same with the Temple of Hephaestus. You have to be quick.

Temple of Hephaestus.

And again, looking from the Stoa of Attalos.

Loved this statue.

Gorgeous Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles.

Graffiti is never far from view.

And that’s of course why I came to Athens - to get a painting of the Eiffel Tower.
