You've probably never heard of Dilofo - just a speck on the map, a tiny, near-deserted town in the Zagori region of Greece - and that's why we loved it.


There's not much more to Dilofo than you see here - a handful of old buildings in a mountain setting.


Its setting is simply stunning. Here as we approached the town in autumn.


Autumn colours throughout the Zagori region were amazing. Here coming into Dilofo.


That's as busy as the traffic got.


Despite its relative isolation there was really nice restaurant right opposite our lodgings in a cobblestone street with no car access. I was beginning to think I had reached heaven.


Dusk was particularly beautiful.


As was the morning light. Our only mistake was to limit our booking in Dilofo to two nights.
