The beautiful town of Chania in Crete was a revelation of light and colour when we visited in October.

The colours of Chania town were so vivid even in the midday sun.

Beautiful Chania harbour.

The Venetian lighthouse is a standout monument.

I can think of worse places to dangle a line.

As we took in the view at the harbourside a huge turtle emerged to check us out.

The crush of tourism was starting to dissipate in October.

Kasteli Hill is a great vantage point.

There's plenty to see in the fascinating back streets of the old town.

But it's hard to take your eyes off that beautiful harbour and stop taking snaps.

Really hard!
