Huashan - western mountain

A great adventure is to visit the peaks of Huashan, one of the famed mountains referenced in ancient Chinese literature.

The sheer cliffs of Huashan are amazing. This was all back in 2016 when I didn't have quite as good a camera as I use at present but I think it still gives the idea.

The end of the walk takes you to the infamous `plank walk'. Google it sometime - described in many places as the most dangerous walk in the world. The thick mist was a blessing - you couldn't see just how sheer and far the drop really is. But it is a very long way down, trust me.

That's my foot (as proof to work colleagues), and that's as far as I got. As I was taking the photo someone overtook me ON THE INSIDE, pushing me towards the chain. At that point I decided I valued my life too much to continue. But overall, what a fantastic place, highly recommended.
