Annapurna trek Day 3 - Poon Hill, sunrise and rain

The clouds lifted just long enough at Poon Hill for us to witness a wonderful Himalayan sunrise.

The dawn trek to the peak of Poon Hill was tough on the lungs, but it was all worth it once we got above the clouds.

First light hitting the huge mountains was memorable. We were so fortunate - for the previous two weeks it had been a complete whiteout, leaving earlier trekkers disappointed.

There were still plenty of clouds but the sunrise views were inspirational.

Even from back down in the village the views were stunning.

Soon enough we were back on the trail, and with weather setting in again.
