The rain, the tough climbs and below average sleep on our Nepal trek were all forgotten when we saw the majestic Day 4 sunrise from our accommodation.

Stunning Annapurna sunrise right on our doorstep. We thought we'd seen all the views for the trek at Poon Hill so this was an unexpected bonus.

When the first rays hit the Annapurnas- pure magic.

Changing every few seconds with the rising sun.

A photographer's paradise. Let's try a wider angle ...

... 16:9 ...

... and a new vantage point.

Even the spectacular Fishtail Mountain, which had been elusive our whole trek, made a brief appearance.

The rest of the day involved trekking along increasingly well defined paths to the pretty village of Ghandruk.

Still not a motorised vehicle in sight.

Unfortunately I left my film camera and Sony Walkman at home.

After trekking for four days - the dal bhat seemed tastier!

There was even a bakery - after all those kilometres on muddy tracks, heaven!

And a fascinating museum.

And generally lovely scenes around the village and monastery.

But to be honest the day really belonged to those unforgettable sunrise views. Just one of those great travel moments and a privilege.
#11 looks like a small slice of heaven and the views are beyond stunning :)
Yes, fantastic views once we got above the clouds!
