Jellybean Pool reflections

Kids might be disappointed to find no pool full of jellybeans, but a beautiful natural pool shaped like a jellybean in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

Just when I thought I knew Sydney pretty well ... another completely new spot for me. Near Glenbrook in the lower Blue Mountains, 50 kilometres from the heart of Sydney.

The Blue Mountains are an extensive and stunning national park area. Most visitors whizz up to the highest points, and miss this exquisite spot in the lower part of the mountains. At least I'm guilty of doing so for many years.

Another nearby point of interest is the Red Hands Cave - Aboriginal hand prints in red ochre approximately 1600 years old.

The Glenbrook Gorge area otherwise has typical Blue Mountains vistas of sheer sandstone cliffs and dense eucalytus forests. The recent severe bushfires fortunately missed this part of the mountains.
