Gemstones Part 4: Rubies in the rough

Rough rubies are fascinating. Maybe not as pretty as the expensive ones found in jewelry but fascinating none the less. They grow in a hexagonal shape in more randomly shaped rocks, which I think looks a bit funny :)

For the next photos, I experimented a bit with a small mirror. It was fun to play with the reflecting light and the reflections :p

For this last photo, I went a bit crazy with editing and created an abstract, more artsy version of the ruby. I kinda like the gritty look it has now with the harsh colors.
