Meet my sweeties

Ever since I got my camera I've been trying to take beautiful pictures of my two horsies: Tibo and Baby. I soon found out that it's really difficult to get nice pictures of horses. Or at least of my horses... 😅

They roll around in the muck whenever they can (just brushed or not), their cute expressions seem to disappear the moment I put a camera to my face and all they want to do is rub their nose against the lens (which is actually incredibly adorable).

Baby (my mare) even got so jealous of my camera once she just put her head on my shoulder. As if to say "now put that thing away and give me some attention!" 😄

On my last try, I finally managed to take some shots that I like. They're far from perfect but it's a start. And I've got plenty of time to perfect my horse shooting technique, so prepare for a lot of equine photos!

This is Tibo, my gelding. He's super sweet and always happy to see me :) There's no end to his curiosity, a funny combination with the fact that he also easily gets spooked :p

This is what happens when you crouch down in the pasture with your camera. He always seems to think "Oh hi there! What are you doing? I want to see!"

And then you end up like this... With his nose in your ear/face/lens :D

This is Baby (my mare). She's the smart one of the two. Her favorite thing in the world is food (we have that in common). Like a typical mare, she can get very grumpy and mopey if she doesn't get her way. But she can also be really sweet and cuddly if she wants to. Or sleepy in this case :)

The sun was already pretty low which lead to this interesting pattern of light and shadow

And finally, this is the amount of hair that came off Tibo! You know spring has truly started when you have horse hair all over you 😆

Great looking horses and you did a lovely job in capturing these photos.  I hope you still ride?

What was it that Churchill said?  "There is nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse?"  Put on a helmet and throw a leg over.  grinning

Bring on the horse photos! smile What beautiful sweeties you have, and unique perspectives in your shots - love the close ups of their faces. This makes me miss riding and being around the barn.

Thank you ^^ And yeah they didn't want to pose or stand still long enough for more traditional captures. So I decided to work with what I got and this was the result smile
