Snowy Path and the Fortress
We spent Easter bumming around the museums of Salzburg. First we went to the Salzburg Museum der Moderne, where there was a fantastic collection of photography and sculpture asking questions to the theme of clothing called "Röcke Tragen“ (”Wear Skirts"). There were some really good pieces with themes of sexualizing women’s bodies, gender performativity, and advertisement. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take pictures. It was inspiring.
We took a walk along the Mönchsberg, which is the other major hill in the city, to visit the Festung. This fortress was built over the centuries and was never penetrated, only surrendered peacefully when Napoleon swept through Austria. There we got another great view of the city from above (essentially my time in Salzburg was breathtaking views).
However, this photo was taken on the walk to the fortress. The snow was melty and muddy but gave everything a pretty coat.
