Dunn Bros Coffee, Grand Ave.

Dunn Bros is an obvious choice for a Macalester student, when one is in need of coffee and a snack. This cozy and often packed coffee shop has a great selection of baked goods (muffins, doughnuts, etc.), along with multitudes of coffee (grounds are also available for purchase).

I've been frequenting Dunn Bros on MWF Mornings in the past several weeks, and tables can sometimes be hard to snag. The room is filled with a light chatter, and the tables are cozy (read: a bit small). Good for a catch-up date with a friend, or good for studying alone (the tables are a bit small for two computers and mugs/cups.

I'm particularly happy with Dunn Bros, because the tea isn't prohibitively expensive. In comparison with some other places (Kopplin's especially), Dunn Bros is dirt cheap. Tea is only 1.50 for a mug. The selection is nice, but basic. I really love the Jasmine tea.

They also consistently have one of my favorite doughnut-like items, maple cinnamon buns. Mmmmmm.

I've been surprised that I don't run into too many people that I know. Perhaps that has more to do with me knowing fewer people or the time of day that I go. The morning crowd is considerably older than the evening crowd, I'd assume. But that was my biggest deterring factor in not going more often is getting distracted by Macalester friends, but it largely hasn't happened.

That's all for now. Happy up-coming mid-terms.
