Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, South America

Sometimes referred to as the jewel of the Caribbean, Cartagena de Indias was first settled by the Spanish in 1504 and had the proud distinction of having never been conquered by the British or the French. A city of a million Colombian's, this is among my favorite cities in South America. Inside the city, the Corrilito de Piedra, the Wall of Stone, still stands. This is the old part of the city and has been continually maintained by the Spanish crown since the first masted ship arrived centuries ago.
