Minnesota's oldest framed house, the Pierre Bottineau House, built in 1854, still stands as a testament to the hard work and determination of the people who settled in the northern plains. Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Plain is it's current home, although it has been moved from it's original location. This image was captured during a blizzard in a mid December snowshoeing outing.

Yes, if I recall, my friend Steve fell through the ice in a shallow pond, luckily I was close enough to monkey him out of the water. Then we quickly made our way to the chalet where we had some warm Indian soup waiting for us. The we went out for a second trek and I forgot my hat and the snow collected on my hair and the fierce wind froze it to the side of my head.
