The Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Preserve, Minnesota

The Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Preserve straddles the confluence of the Minnesota and the Mississippi River Valley's and is one of the largest wildlife preserves in America. Visitors can enter the park at any number of scenic wayside rests along it's 37 mile boundary from St. Paul to Jordan. Within the 14,000 acres and 100 miles of river banks, the refuge meanders through riverine wetlands, dense untouched forests, oak savannas and native upland prairies. Through the primordial riverland, one can hike year round in the splendor of this natural riparian wilderness and encounter any number of unique foliage as well as wildlife living in the area.
