Sometimes misidentified as Diamond Head, the dormant volcano near Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, Mount Popa looms in the background of Cartagena de Indias. La Popa, the Catholic Convent, sits atop the mount and watches over the city as a nun watches over her 3rd year prep students. In the foreground, one can see why the Caribbean is sometimes referred to as "el mar de siete colores", the sea of seven colors. This image was captured on a yacht as we headed to the Rosario Islands, a chain of small atolls about 3 hours by boat, southwest of Cartagena de Indias.
