Quiet Morning on the Vermillion

by Joseph Gentry August. 13, 2018 423 views

Once the main tributary that fed 'Lake Farmington', a glacial lake that drained geologists say some 10,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age, the Vermillion River has meandered through what is now southern Dakota County for millena. Indeed the mightly little river has replenished untold creatures including man. Many quiet mornings on the Vermillion have transpired since the spring bubbled up out of the ground in the western part of the county.
