The summer is gone at Madikeri. Now it is the season of rain! rain! and more rain! This is a part of the thick Western Ghats and a source to a major river in S. India, i.e. the Cauvery. It's thick with vegetation and very near the coast of the Arabian Sea from which the monsoon clouds enter the country. The country depends heavily on the Monsoon. If there's a failure of it, then there's famine and drought. This year it has appeared late by a week. It's yet to pick up. But already the old umbrellas have been mended, new ones bought. The rain-wear are out of the almirahs…all with the expectations of rain and more rain! The tourist season is over..but there are some mad tourists who come just to enjoy the rains alone!

A summer's day at Madikeri…

And there's a change of scene with the entry of monsoon clouds…

I love seeing pictures of this area where you live, even in Monsoon season! It's been awhile since you've posted photos of the town and streets, I'd love to see more of them!
