~ Not my week ~

by Eric J H Joyce December. 19, 2010 3604 views

I have been down this same rural road many times but today I got stuck. Snow drifts were my enemy which came in second to the cold. Walked about 3/4 of a mile to a farm and nobody was home. Kept walking and I was getting very cold by this time not sure where I should go next. A man in a pickup with his dog walking in front of it came and he was actually looking for me. He went up to my vehicle and let the dog out to show him which direction I went.
He pulled me out and wished me a Merry Christmas…….I'm grateful to the stranger who helped me out of what could have turned into a very bad situation.

A very familiar story. I went out yesterday with a friend to deliver turkeys all over the county and helped some people who got off the road due to snow drifts. Five minutes later we got stuck ourselves without anyone around :( It was dark, cold and the wind was killing, but luckily we were able to get out (I was pushing while being knee-deep in snow). You must have been exhausted after walking nearly a mile in all that snow. It is hard work!

I know people do good things like around the world, but up here in Minnesota, it seems to be more common. What a blessing that man was determined to find you! I'm so glad your safe! And able to keep sharing your photos! Like someone else already said - and yet you managed to take great shots. #3 is my favorite in this set. Also - love the quote!
