Eastern Market in Detroit has been around since the 1850's. Today, it is a district, anchored by a hybrid retail/ wholesale public market and surrounded by regional food businesses. Fresh food is available throughout the week, but Sundays feature the work of local artists, cooks, jewelers, and musicians.
This Sunday's event was "Shed 5 Flea," a "maker's fair" of sorts that will run again in July and August.
I'm pretty sure I'll be back in July!
