I often hear questions and debates on various forums regarding the benefits of shooting in RAW versus JPEG. What I've discovered the ONLY downfall to shooting in RAW is the amount of space it takes up on the card. Let's be real though, with the cost of sd cards falling, is shooting in JPEG to save a little bit of space really worth losing all that data? I shoot with a Sony a7Rii and set my camera to capture RAW and JPEG simultaneously. My camera also shoots at 42MP and at 4K video and I understand need space. Here is the link to the SD cards I bought http://amzn.to/2mXNZir. They have worked flawlessly. Trust me, it's well worth the $70 investment if you're serious about creating quality images.
This Weekly Theme 10 is a perfect example of what can be done when shooting in RAW. I would encourage you to participate in it and see for yourself. Click on this link https://www.photoblog.com/lear... to see the contest as well as download the originals.
