I knew there was fresh snow and I thought maybe I can get a good sunrise shot, so with great anticipation I left home two hours before the sunrise. But as has been the case more than once lately, the clouds were covering the sky. Still some good light though.
First stop was at Bow Lake with Crowfoot Mountain as a backdrop. Notice the lake has not completely frozen over.
A quick stop at Lake Louise, again to get some good morning light and see the lake before it completely freezes over. And also to get a hot cup of coffee.
Next stop was at a place called Morants Curve, where the views are spectacular anytime of year.
A view of Castle Mountain from highway 1A.
