A mysterious and magical place located in the mountains of western North Carolina, this 12 mile stretch of the Linville River is often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the East". This Federally designated Wilderness Area is so rugged that most of it survived the logging that scoured virtually every tree east of the Mississippi from the planet. It was a privilege to have visited it whenever I wanted when I lived in NC. Another of the places I miss the most.
