I will have to talk the wife and daughter into a trip down there. It looks like such a cool place.

It really is - right across the street is the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, a much smaller, mostly art (www.dixon.org) venue, but with lovely formal English gardens. There is also the Metal Museum, which I have posted about, and I'm heading next week to the Pink Palace Family of Museums (sounds weird but it's not). And the Memphis Zoo, which I haven't been to since the 60's. I'm free to act act as tour guide, now that I am highly mobile, and I'd love to meet you.

Thanks Benny - it was about the only thing blooming that day. Heading back this week and hope to catch the bulbs bursting out.

Can't say I've been to the botanical gardens in Memphis, but I have been to the Peabody several times as well as Beal Street and have eaten at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. Mouth waters as I think of the place. smile

Awwh, you said Gus's - now I'm hungry. But we have a place here in Rossville that does a pretty good fried chicken every other Thursday night, The Wolf River Cafe. Well, it's the only place to eat, really. Sigh.
