Day 21: Feelin' Jazzy

by John Nelson January. 21, 2010 2721 views

I have a love affair with music and instruments. While I'm not great at making music, I love every aspect of hearing / feeling it. Add to that the beautiful curves and lines of the instruments, and you can be left breathless by the power of music.

All shots taken with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens, flipping between f/1.8 and f/2.8.

Location: Springdale, AR
Camera: Canon Rebel XTi
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8

These are wonderful pictures! I really love the effect the depth of field has on each one. Great subject matter as well ... I used to play the trumpet :)

The DOF really make these images pop- great job! We tend to favour our 50mm f/1.8 for this effect too.

The light source for all of these was the dining room chandelier. ;) Not many options for good, bright lighting at 10:00 PM on a rainy night around the house!

Great series! Use of dof makes these really interesting. What's the light source for #1? I love the subtle reflections on the surface.
