Day 25: Majesty Declared

by John Nelson January. 25, 2010 3205 views

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Psalm 19:1

I've always been fascinated by the moon and the constellations, especially Orion. Probably because he's easy to find, and the fact that he chases Taurus across the sky throughout the winter. This was taken in my back yard, and there was a ton of “city” light affecting the sky. But this tweaked my interest in night-sky photography, so I'm sure I'll have another shot like this later, but taken far away from the city.

Taken with a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 at 24mm for 30 seconds (thus the blurring/moving of the stars).

Location: Springdale, AR
Camera: Canon Rebel XTi
Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L

Best viewed large so Orion is more visible.

Great shot and comment. This week's devotional theme in "Men of Integrity" is on this idea.

Loved the scripture. The heavens have always fascinated me--wish I knew more about them. Thanks for letting me see them so beautifully in this shot!
