Day 54: So I Can Remember...

This is Emma, my oldest daughter. Learning to read has been one of her biggest joys in the past year. She devours books and wants to read to me & my wife all the time.

On Monday night, I was lying next to her listening to her read a book, I just watched her face. Such concentration, joy, budding understanding, and pride were expressed there…all within the covers of a short book. Knowing that it wouldn't be long before she's grown & gone, I watched and tried to memorize her face, expressions, tics, and tocks. I don't want to forget these looks. Ever.

Location: Springdale, AR
Camera: Canon Rebel XTi
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II []

FYI: Due to low-light conditions, I bumped up my ISO to 800 shooting at f/1.8 (as fast as my lens will go). On the Rebel XTi, it's pretty grainy at ISO 800.

She obviously gets this drama from her mother… :)

My favorite of the set…look at the happy, deserved pride on that face! Amazing!

I'm saving all of them to my favorites! If I can find the keypad through tears!
