Day 189: Monkey See, Doggie Do

by John Nelson July. 08, 2010 2434 views

Rounding out the family funny portraits, I present you with my summer-haircut-dog: Belle. She didn't get very silly for her portrait session. In fact, she really didn't care or want to be there. Thus, only a single usable image of her.

The main purpose of these random silly sessions is to help me learn one-light lighting. The setup is pretty basic: off-camera flash (camera-right) shot into a cheap umbrella on a stand. I'm working with settings to learn EV amount for the flash based on my preferred shutter/aperture settings. I think I found what I'm comfortable with in this scenario. Now for bigger & better & more outdoorsey scenarios!

I've really liked this series of post of all your "girls" -Emma, Brooklyn, and now Belle! She's so pretty in this shot.
