Day 190: High Tide

by John Nelson July. 09, 2010 2325 views

We've had crazy rain all week long, capped off by 3 inches of rain in an hour this afternoon. Most of the creeks & streams flooded pretty quickly. So I grabbed the girls and went down to our local lower-water bridge that floods easily. We waded & splashed around the edges of the water for a while. Growing up, I was always fascinated with exploring & playing in creeks. I'm glad my girls enjoy playing and exploring, too!

There's a road to the left of the yellow railing. The water is probably about 3 feet deep on the road.

Emma (left) & Brooklyn (right) hang out and play in the flood waters near the creek.

Brooklyn spent most of the time jumping & splashing in the water.

The setting sun shines through the trees. There were raindrops falling off the leaves which glistened in the sunlight. It didn't capture in the photo, though.

Love those rubber boots in pink and purple! I'm glad you enjoy doing those things with your girls, too. And, yes, that last shot is really lovely - so many different shades of greens and yellows! Did you notice that the upper right leaves look "First Security Teal"?
