Day 271: Sunflowers

by John Nelson September. 28, 2010 3049 views

A small farmhouse has a row of sunflowers lining their front picket-fence along the main road in Elm Springs. Every morning, the sun lights them up splendidly. With the cooler weather finally here, we're also getting heavy dew covering everything. I knew that it was time to stop & take a picture of these sunflowers with these conditions.

Sadly, I didn't realize that when dressing. Wearing my nicest clothes, I waded through long, heavily damp grass to get up next to them. Nothing like coming into work with your pants, socks, & shoes wet.

wonderful angles. It was worth having wet clothes. The petals in #1 are so perfect they almost have a paper-like texture.

But the clothes and shoes were worth it! These are so beautiful next to the bright blue skies.
