Week 4/52 - Macro

by John Nelson January. 17, 2011 4387 views

I was excited about this week's theme of “macro”, as I've never worked with a macro lens. A friend of mine let me borrow his 50mm macro lens for a few days so I could get some shots for this theme. And while the subjects are an extreme smattering of subjects, I really loved just looking around the house for things to get close-up on! I also love the abstract-ness that macro can produce, as well as the intricately small focal points.

I still have a few days left with the lens, so I'm hoping to procure some water droplet macros.

A magazine basket. Tightly-wound magazine pages molded into a basket. I'm amazed at the focal plane here…

These tacks were about 1/4" apart…the depth of field on a macro lens is super cool!

Yes, it's obviously fake. But it's all I had to work with…

My beloved Xbox controller… :)
