Goodbye, Vietnam

What an experience it has been. I had kept my expectations of Vietnam very neutral. We had been to other countries in South East Asia but of course, each country is so different that you want to refrain from comparing the respective experiences, as well as letting your past encounters shape your expectations of new destinations. I have truly enjoyed Vietnam, more than I could have hoped. Wonderfully friendly and hospitable people, breathtaking landscapes, delicious food and I feel an additional sense of wonder for and attraction to the country that I can’t exactly explain. Here below are some last impressions of Vietnam, from our stay in Hanoi.

Sad to leave Vietnam and yet excited about the upcoming adventure.

Next stop: Laos.

Thanks, Radha. It seems idealistic, but it was just a moment I was standing close to that spot and the sun was coming in and out of clouds, so I tried to capture it.
