Back On Familiar Turf

After eleven months on the move and on the road, we arrived in Switzerland last month. Although it has not even been a month, the traveling mindset and the feeling of total freedom does seem quite distant. Settling back into daily life does have its advantages such as not having to repack your bags every second day or sleeping on a decent mattress for a change.

While busy with our move, we ventured up the mountains for my Mum’s birthday last weekend and saw what nature the Bernese Oberland has to offer. It was actually this same view two years ago that prompted me to move back to Switzerland.

Happy birthday, Mum - and hello, Switzerland!

Beautiful shots, Julia. Switzerland has to be one of my favourite countries. You're very lucky to be living there and calling it home.

Thank you, Greg. I’ve lived in several countries and ten years ago my attitude towards Switzerland was not all that friendly. While I am Swiss, I guess it took living in a flat country for me to truly appreciate the landscape here. smile

P.s. Vancouver Island is also a beautiful place to call home. smile

Thanks Julia, it is nice here on Vancouver Island. Now that you're home, I have to say that I enjoyed very much following your adventure around the world. Your photos and commentary were excellently done and you led me to places that I never imagined. I'll miss those posts but will look for others by you from beautiful Switzerland.

Thanks, Greg. I hadn’t touched my camera in years, so it was a lovely way to explore the world (...of photography once more) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Originally I mainly intended to set up the blog to cover this past year but I will try to keep up the posts with small outings closer to home. smile
