Saturday we drove south, passing South of the Border, a tacky roadside amusement.

We spent the night in Savannah, Georgia.

Georgia pine trees.

Sunset in Savannah.

The city has great architecture.

Today we drove into Florida down I95 but took a slight detour..

to see the ocean before we drove inland.

We visited Gatorland in Orlando.

The peaceful lagoon is anything but.

It's full of alligators and crocodiles.

swimming right beneath us.

and right past all the birds.

The gators don't seem to pay attention to the birds at all.

This one's a croc - he has a narrow snout.

There were baby ones…

and giant ones.

There were also lots of birds like these parrots…

…and egrets.

They has shows like this one with audience involvement holding various creatures….

…gator wrestling…

…and feeding the gators. It was an interesting afternoon.
