I don't live here and I don't work here, but I pass through this area on my way to work. This is Dan Snyder's home, owner of the Washington Redskins. The gate is rarely open; it just happened to be open as I passed this morning. It's the former home of Jordan's now-deceased King Hussain. I was actually in stopped traffic for a motorcade for the King years ago, and followed Mr. Snyder home in his Maybach once.
This one is Sargeant and Eunice Kennedy Shriver's which is now for sale. Sometimes their daughter Maria and her husband Arnold are here as well. I was once in a hair salon when the Governor was in the Starbucks next door.
This is Austin Kiplinger's, the founder of Kiplinger magazine. His wife died from cancer last year, Mrs. Snyder has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and the Kennedys have had their share of tragedies. Goes to show you that there are some things money can't buy, even if it can buy you big gates, high berms, and lots of land. We regularly remind our kids that most people in the world do not live like this though.
